...Offa's Dyke footpath is on your doorstep with Moel Fammau, (Mother Mountain) offering views to Snowdonia and as far away as Blackpool to the north. Numerous footpaths abound.

...Clocaenog Forest, and in Llandegla an 18 mile mountain bike route.
Oh! and don't forget the majestic Snowdonia National Park, just an hour away by car!
Portmeirion
Places to fish, walk, sail, canoe and windsurf
Llyn Brenig reservoir for cycling, fishing, boating and walking and picnics with a café.
Bala Lake has multiple water sport facilities about 40 minutes drive through beautiful scenery, heading to the coast towards Harlech, the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, Portmadog and the Lleyn peninsula.

Try Ruthin or Mold with its excellent twice weekly open air market, Wrexham, Llandudno or the walled city of Chester.
For bargains, fifteen minutes drive away in St Asaph the Tweedmill Factory outlet sells quality clothes and housewares or the massive Mac Arthur Glen factory village is about 50 minutes away in Ellesmere Port.

Sorry, too many eatery's, pubs and restaurants to name but they serve good food and offer friendly, Welsh hospitality.
There are two award winning local pubs within a gentle 15 minute walk along scenic countlanes with amazing views towards Snowdonia and the North Wales coast.

North Wales has many local health and beauty spas. Ruthin has sports facilities including, an indoor swimming pool. The Vale of Clwyd and local area has no shortage of golf courses in scenic surroundings. (Ruthin golf course, Denbigh golf club)
Like old cars?
There are two motor museums. One in Llangollen and the other in Betwys-y-Coed. Classic car enthusiasts are especially welcome to our cottages. Please enquire about special facilities if you travel in a classic car and are a member of a classic car club. We are MG and Talbot enthusiasts.
